These days everyone wants to lose weight in some shape or form whether it be on their arms, legs or bum.
Some people will opt to do a special fast track diet plan and some will try other methods which are seemingly quick to get you to lose weight.
The truth of the matter is that there is only one way for you to lose weight and that is the healthy way. Healthy weight loss will ensure that once the weight starts to drop off it will, in fact, stay off.
I’m sure you have seen it for yourself when people have not opted for the healthy weight loss route, they lose the weight very quickly but within a few short months the weight has returned and then some. Not good!

So what do we mean when we talk about healthy weight loss?
Healthy weight loss very simply put is losing weight according to your body’s natural physique. No two people will naturally lose weight the same way.
Every individual has their own personal genetic makeup so it stands to reason that your bodies will naturally work differently too.
If you are expecting to see the same weight loss results as your neighbor then you will be sadly mistaken.
If you are on a healthy weight loss journey you should not be feeling a lot of pressure to lose weight quickly you should consider it to be more of a weight loss journey.
Thinking of it this way takes the pressure off losing the weight fast.
Heres where you are probably going wrong when it comes to losing weight:
1. You think by going to the gym 3 times a week that your body is obligated to shedding the fat.
Wrong! Your body will only burn according to what you burn off in your session.
If for example if as a man you eat 3000 calories a day then head to the gym to exercise and only burn off 300 calories then you are still going to be over on the scales because the average man should only be eating 2500 calories in a day to maintain his weight.
You are already eating over the threshold.
It’s quite clear to see here that if you want to see real results then you need to look at your food intake as well and not just rely solely on the gym and as “fix all things”. Remember slow and steady wins the race.
2. Calorie counting will help me
Different foods will have different effects on your body.
Eating 100g of avocado compared to 100g of white bread is never going to give you the same effect.
There are too many discrepancies in calorie counting to make it a sure-fire way for healthy weight loss.
3. You may think that you are hungry when in fact you are actually thirsty
The body can easily trick us if we don’t study it well.
A lot of the time when we feel hungry it is not in actual fact hunger but rather thirst. So the next time that you are feeling hungry but its a little too close to lunchtime try grabbing a drink instead.
There really is a whole school of thought about this. It’s definitely worth trying!
4. Stop eating when you are feeling emotional
Let’s face it we have all been guilty of this at some point in our lives.
We feel a little stressed out so we go to the fridge. It’s been a hard day at work so you grab a beer. You’re celebrating your football teams big win so you go out for a spontaneous pizza to celebrate. You need to stop right there.
Whilst these things in themselves aren’t necessarily bad for you it would perhaps be a good idea to evaluate what you have already eaten for the day first before indulging.
You must think of this as a journey in order to remain dedicated to your healthy weight loss.
5. Realize that there is no “lose weight fast” diet that actually works.
Remember the Atkins diet that everyone went on about years ago?
How many of the people who followed the Atkins diet have still been able to keep the weight off? My guess is none.
It wasn’t a particularly healthy diet and even if it was, it would be a very difficult one to stick to for the rest of your life.
Final thoughts on healthy weight loss
In conclusion, healthy weight loss will give you the lasting results that you truly want.
There is no magic pill that will force you to lose weight today and be able to keep the weight off tomorrow.
Remember healthy weight loss is attached to your lifestyle, therefore, you shouldn’t have to be drastic in order to see good results.
If you remain disciplined and focus on a whole lifestyle change then the weight loss will surely come.
